On Friday the 22nd of May, the first ever Sleepout for Schools was held at Toorak College. There were over 50 year nine girls (aged 14-15 years old) who attended the night. The night begun with the girls all standing outside the designated room. Everyone was dressed in casual clothes, some even in pyjamas!

I was delighted I was to support and join in on the Toorak College March against Child Slavery. It was a rowdy and spirited demonstration of how strongly students feel about the issue. I was worried that locals might object to the racket - however I spoke to some bystanders and they were actually impressed that students had made the effort to take collective action and raise awareness of this important issue.
